Rudisill Library Gets a New Site

The Rudisill Library site got a new face today!



The new layout for the library site is cleaner and more easily navigable because we are using the more friendly (and, we hope, familiar) user interface of LibGuides for our main site.

LibGuides are research guides, created by your librarians on specific subjects. There is one for almost every area of study that Lenoir-Rhyne offers, and they are chock full of great, handpicked resources and helpful tips. Explore all the LibGuides we have to offer at libguides.lr.edu

The L-R Asheville Library site, which you can find at libguides.lr.edu/ashevillelibrary (or by choosing the 'Asheville' link on the top right of the new library homepage), has always been a LibGuide.

There are still a few things being updated with the latest information, and next on the list, we'll update our instructional videos to show off the new look. In the meantime - go check it out!

LibGuide/Research guide is a term librarians use frequently when describing their resources. Honestly, it’s a bit of jargon term. Essentially, what we are talking about is a mini-website filled with information resources around a particular topic so you can easily navigate to them when you need them. Updates and FAQs on the New Library Search

I've been getting a lot questions about the new library website and library search lately. I want to cover a few Frequently Asked Questions about our new search service, Summon and share a video I made recently on how to use it. PLAY VIDEO HERE FAQs  Why do I get so many results? Summon searches about 100 online resources—most of our electronic collection and all of our ebooks!  That includes a number of large e-journal collections, not available through PowerSearch—scholarly journal collections from publishers like Wiley, Sage, Elsevier, and Springer.  We’ve also added selected open access content sources as well.
